We arrived in King of Prussia on Friday night, after driving almost all day through a snow storm. The last stretch was a 30-40 mph adventure through a few long, torturous hours of a snow and ice storm. The snow was falling so heavily at one point that Gene could barely see the cars in front of us.
Most of the weekend, we hung out at Dennis Dieckman's booth, when we weren't checking out the other exhibitors, or the Artistic Pool action, upstairs. Of course, Tim Chin was there, as well as many other artistic pool players. They put on a great competition, which we were excited to be able to attend. Check out some of the digital photos we took from the Artistic Pool competition, here.
We really enjoyed our weekend visit with Dennis Dieckman, whom Gene has wanted to meet for some time. Occasionally, we wandered through all the booths at the Expo and enjoyed meeting many cuemakers, suppliers, etc., and we even bought a few items we needed (or wanted). We also met some of the other ICA members who were there, including Dennis of Dieckman, Cue Builder, Chris and Israel of Hightower Custom Cues, Tom of Triple Cross Cues, Barry of Cameron Cues, etc.. We also saw Jim of Norwela Cues, whom we met in Louisiana a few months before. It was good to see him, again. Lomax Custom Cues and Repairs stayed busy with constant cue work. I'm sure the weather restricted the overall attendance, but some of the guys still stayed quite busy with customers.
Due to the nasty weather, many of our customers, family and friends, who were all planning to see us there, were unable to make the trip. Although disappointed, we totally understood their situation and were glad they stayed home and safe. Maybe we can meet up with them, next year.
One of our dedicated customers managed to make the trip and found Gene at Dennis' booth on Sunday. Renee' showed up with a camera in time to get a great snapshot. We were very glad to see him and have included the photo of him and Gene, below.
As we made the final trek home on Tuesday we finished our drive through Missouri and Oklahoma. This time, it wasn't snow or ice that prevented the view of the vehicles in front of us, it was VERY heavy rainfall. As always Gene managed to navigate through it and we got Jim home in time for a meeting he had to attend, too.
Below, you will see some pics from our trip. Click on the pictures below to see the full-size photos and some notations. If I have time, I'll include additional pics, later.
